Priscilla Geistefer

Priscilla Geistefer

Background / Professional Experience
Since 2000, Priscilla has been working in the context of spiritual formation for various religious institutions including the Catholic Church of Canada, the United Church of Canada, the Buddhist community of Fredericton, and Unitarian Communities in Canada. Currently her focus is individual and group Spiritual Counseling. She understands that embedded within the soul of each person is a spark of sacred light that emerges in each individual as sacred wisdom. Wisdom is both timeless and deeply rooted in human experience. Priscilla is committed to hearing the sacred wisdom of individuals and groups and guiding people back to this inner truth, to the roots of their own deep wisdom. Rather than guiding them to live the values of contemporary society, it is her desire to guide people back to remembering who they are and to live in the world from this place.

Initially her work was aimed at breaking down complex religious/wisdom ideas and making them accessible to children through storytelling. This work has blossomed and is currently being requested by adults. This work includes individual spiritual counseling, group spiritual guidance, inspirational talks, and course instruction.

With children, her work has involved both individual and group work. She has developed programs for teaching children about the spiritual foundations of Buddhism and Christianity as well as intensive interfaith programs that emphasize an awareness of diversity.

Priscilla has learned that religious identity depends on individuation and that spiritual identity depends on integration. The earlier we are able to learn to individuate with integrity, the longer we live a whole life connected to wisdom truth.
Education and Training
Originally ordained as an Interfaith minister through One Spirit Interfaith Seminary in New York in 2012, Priscilla has received certification as a spiritual counselor with One Spirit as well. One Spirit has been a great compliment to Priscilla’s previous unfinished doctoral studies in ancient sacred literature. Her love for the healing quality of ancient stories has compelled her to become an accredited storyteller. Priscilla has a spiritual counselling practice that is informed by Celtic Shamanism, Contemplative Christianity, Islamic prayer, Jewish mysticism, and Interspecies awareness.
Personally
Priscilla is devoted to supporting spiritual growth and development, both her own and that of those whom she serves. Her passion and sensitivity guide her ministry and every aspect of her life. She is creative and enthusiastic in her work with individuals and groups.

Priscilla describes her life partner, children and four legged companions as the earth and breath of her life, the source that renews her energy. She loves to nurture her family life by kayaking with whales and seals and walking meditation on the shores of the Bay of Fundy.
